Srinagar, May 14, 2026 : Jammu and Kashmir Minister for Health and Medical Education Sakina Itoo on Thursday called for a transparent and impartial investigation into the alleged NEET-UG 2026 paper leak case, stating that those responsible for compromising the integrity of the examination system must be punished strictly.
Speaking on the controversy surrounding the alleged leak of the NEET examination paper, Sakina Itoo said the issue has created widespread concern among students, parents and academic communities across the country.
The Minister emphasized that deserving and hardworking students should not suffer because of the actions of a few individuals involved in unlawful activities. She stressed that investigating agencies must ensure accountability at every stage of the probe and conduct the investigation in a fair and credible manner.
“The investigation into the NEET paper leak must be transparent, and those found involved should be dealt with strictly,” Sakina Itoo said while reacting to the ongoing nationwide controversy.
Her remarks come amid an extensive investigation into the NEET-UG 2026 paper leak case, in which multiple arrests, detentions and raids have reportedly been carried out by various investigating agencies, including the Central Bureau of Investigation, across several states.
The Minister further said that maintaining the credibility and integrity of competitive examinations is essential to protect the future of students and preserve public trust in the education system.
She asserted that strict legal action should be initiated against every individual found responsible for manipulating or compromising the examination process.
The alleged NEET paper leak has triggered nationwide debate over examination security, transparency and the need for stronger safeguards to prevent malpractice in competitive entrance tests conducted for professional courses.
