SRINAGAR, Jul 17, 2025 : More than 2.51 lakh pilgrims have performed the Amarnath Yatra in the first 15 days since it began on July 3, officials said on Thursday. Despite a temporary suspension due to inclement weather, Yatra resumed as conditions improved, with 5,110 pilgrims having darshan by 2 p.m. today.
Pilgrims are moving steadily from both Baltal and Pahalgam (Nunwan) base camps towards the sacred cave shrine, with officials reporting a continued influx of devotees from across India and abroad.
“This year’s Yatra has witnessed an overwhelming response,” said officials, highlighting the spiritual significance of the journey and the diverse participation. Authorities praised the efforts of the Shrine Board, security forces, and volunteers, whose coordination has ensured a smooth, safe, and spiritually enriching experience.
Pilgrims have expressed satisfaction with arrangements related to sanitation, healthcare, transport, food, and security. Despite challenging Himalayan terrain and unpredictable weather, the Yatra has progressed without major disruptions.
With several weeks remaining, officials expect the total pilgrim count to rise significantly, reaffirming the Shri Amarnathji Yatra as one of India’s most revered and well-managed religious pilgrimages.
