LAHORE, OCTOBER 03, 2026 : Pakistan’s Punjab Police have arrested 13 suspected terrorists allegedly linked to banned militant organisations during intelligence-based operations conducted across the province over the past week, according to the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD).
The CTD spokesperson said 98 intelligence-based operations were carried out during the period, resulting in the arrests across multiple districts.
Suspects Linked to Multiple Outfits
According to the CTD, those arrested are allegedly associated with Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), Al-Qaeda, ISIS and other militant organisations.
The arrests were reported from:
- Lahore
- Sargodha
- Gujrat
- Pakpattan
- Rawalpindi
- Mandi Bahauddin
- Faisalabad
- Khushab
- Chiniot
- Khanewal
Explosives and Other Material Recovered
Police said the operations resulted in the recovery of:
- More than 1.9 kg of explosives
- 12 detonators
- 35 feet of safety fuse wire
- 3 improvised explosive devices (IEDs)
- 1 hand grenade
- Banned literature
The CTD said 13 separate cases have been registered against the suspects and that further investigations are underway.
Authorities are expected to examine the alleged links of the arrested individuals with militant networks and determine whether they were involved in any planned attacks or other unlawful activities.
