SRINAGAR, May 21, 2026 : Intermittent spells of rain and thundershowers are expected to continue across several parts of Jammu & Kashmir till Saturday, with the Kashmir region likely to experience comparatively higher weather activity over the coming days.
According to Kashmir Weather Watch, short-duration but intense showers accompanied by gusty winds, lightning and isolated hailstorm activity may occur at various places during this period.
Weather experts, however, clarified that no prolonged or continuous rainfall is expected across the Union Territory, though sudden weather changes may temporarily impact normal activities in some areas.
Authorities have advised residents, particularly those living in vulnerable and hilly regions, to remain cautious during thunderstorms, gusty winds and lightning activity.
Commuters, tourists and farmers have also been urged to monitor local weather updates and avoid unnecessary movement during severe weather spells.
The recent rainfall and cooler temperatures have brought relief from the heatwave-like conditions witnessed across parts of Kashmir earlier this week.
