Srinagar, January 25, 2026 : In recognition of their distinguished service and unwavering dedication to duty, 17 officers and personnel of the Jammu and Kashmir Police have been awarded the Medal for Meritorious Service (MSM) on the occasion of Republic Day 2026.
Among the awardees are three Inspector Generals of Police — Mohd Suleman Choudhary, Sujit Kumar and Vivek Gupta — who have been honoured for their exemplary leadership and sustained contributions to policing and public service in the Union Territory.
The list of recipients also includes senior and mid-level officers from various ranks. These are Himat Singh (DySP), Champa Devi Sharma (DySP), Khushwant Singh (DySP), Gurmeet Singh (DySP), Anil Sharma (Inspector), Reyaz Ahmad Langoo (Inspector), Sardar Singh (Inspector), Neeraj Kumar Koul (Inspector) and Mushtaq Ahmad Bhat (Inspector).
In addition, Sham Lal (Assistant Sub-Inspector), Balwinder Singh Bali (Assistant Sub-Inspector), Gopal Singh (Head Constable), Tawheed Ahmad Thoker (Constable) and Shubh Kumar (Constable) have also been decorated for their dedicated and meritorious service.
The awards have been conferred as a mark of appreciation for the officers’ professional excellence, commitment to public safety, and significant contribution to maintaining law and order in Jammu and Kashmir.
