Srinagar, February 4, 2026 : Security forces on Wednesday carried out a cordon and search operation (CASO) in the Abi Guzar area of Srinagar, officials said, just days ahead of the scheduled visit of Union Home Minister Amit Shah to the Kashmir Valley.
According to officials, all entry and exit points to the Abi Guzar locality were sealed during the operation. The area, which includes residential and commercial establishments, remained under tight security as forces conducted searches of several premises and frisked passersby.
The surprise operation was lifted after the searches were completed. No arrests were made during the exercise, officials added.
Security has been heightened across parts of the Valley in view of the upcoming visit of the Union Home Minister.
