Srinagar, September 17, 2025 : As part of the fortnight-long ‘Sewa Pakhwada’ initiative, Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha today virtually inaugurated the Bailey Bridge on Ramban-Gool Road, a critical infrastructure project dedicated to strengthening connectivity in the region.
The bridge was handed over to the people of Ramban, Sangaldan, and Gool areas, serving as a vital link for around 1.5 lakh residents. Addressing the occasion, LG Sinha lauded the tireless efforts of the Indian Army engineers, who constructed the bridge under challenging conditions following severe natural calamities that had disrupted road connectivity and led to significant infrastructure damage and economic hardship.
“The Bailey Bridge is not only a symbol of hope but a lifeline that will restore uninterrupted access to essential supplies, medical services, and emergency aid,” the LG stated. He emphasized that the bridge’s construction highlights the unwavering dedication and expertise of the Indian Army, reinforcing the strong bond between the Army and the people in times of crisis.
The LG also congratulated the Indian Army and civil administration for their effective collaboration in delivering this much-needed infrastructure. He reaffirmed that the bridge will significantly enhance the ease of living for local residents and facilitate smoother movement of goods and services, vital for economic revival.
The inaugural ceremony was attended by several dignitaries, including Maj Gen APS Bal (GOC Delta Force), Dr Mandeep K Bhandari (Principal Secretary to LG), Mohammad Alyas Khan (Deputy Commissioner Ramban), Brig K Arun (Commander 11 Sector RR), Shridhar Patil (DIG Doda-Kishtwar-Ramban Range), and other senior officials from the Army, Civil, and Police Administration.
