Ganderbal, October 7, 2025 : At least six people were injured in a road accident near Minamarg area of Drass on Tuesday morning after a cab skidded off the road and plunged into the Drass River, officials said.
According to police, a Xylo vehicle (registration number JK07-4380) was travelling towards Srinagar when the driver reportedly lost control at Khushal Mor, causing the vehicle to fall nearly 150 feet into the river under the jurisdiction of Police Post Minamarg.
All six occupants, including the driver, were rescued in a swift operation led by local police and rescuers, and were immediately shifted to Sub-District Hospital (SDH) Drass for medical treatment.
A police official confirmed that an FIR No. 65/2025 has been registered at Police Station Drass under Sections 281 and 125(a) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), and further investigation is underway to ascertain the exact cause of the mishap.
