KATRA, May 9, 2026 : Former India cricketer and current head coach of the Indian men’s cricket team, Gautam Gambhir arrived in Katra along with his family on Saturday to offer prayers at the revered Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine.
After reaching Katra, Gambhir warmly greeted fans and posed for photographs before proceeding towards the holy shrine with his family amid tight security and enthusiastic crowds.
Gambhir recently guided Team India to a historic triumph in the 2026 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup, as the Men in Blue successfully defended their title and became the first team in cricket history to win consecutive T20 World Cups, including a title victory on home soil.
The celebrated coach is now preparing for India’s upcoming all-format home series against Afghanistan in June, featuring a one-off Test match and three ODIs. Following that, India will face Ireland in a two-match T20I series in Belfast before embarking on the much-awaited England tour in July.
