SRINAGAR, Aug 12, 2025 : Jammu & Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Tuesday warned that Pakistan will face a “very heavy price” if it dares to shed the blood of Indian citizens, citing recent retaliatory strikes under Operation Mahadev and Operation Sindoor as proof of India’s resolve.

Speaking at the ‘Pedal for Ek Bharat, Shreshtha Bharat’ rally organised by the BSF ahead of the 79th Independence Day, Sinha paid tributes to victims of the April 22 Pakistan-sponsored Pahalgam terror attack, which claimed 26 lives. He lauded the armed forces, J&K Police, and BSF for avenging the brutality by eliminating three senior Lashkar-e-Taiba commanders on July 28 in Operation Mahadev, and for targeting terrorist infrastructure in Pakistan and PoK in May’s Operation Sindoor.

“If Pakistan spills the blood of our people, it will have to pay dearly,” Sinha declared, urging citizens to stay vigilant against divisive elements.

The LG flagged off a Tiranga Yatra from Dal Lake to Botanical Garden, honoured Kargil war heroes, and released a monograph in memory of J&K’s martyrs. He called on the youth to join the BSF, Army, and police, stressing unity, patriotism, and prioritising the nation over personal interests.

“The skies of J&K are shining with the tricolour, and a new generation is rising with one resolve — to live and die for Ma Bharti,” Sinha said, adding that under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, the region is marching towards peace, prosperity, and inclusive development.
