Srinagar, September 9, 2025 : The Jammu and Kashmir Police’s State Investigation Agency (SIA) arrested a notorious narco-terror operative, Abdul Rashid Bhat, from Padgampora, Pulwama.
Bhat had been evading arrest for over two years in a 2022 case and was declared a proclaimed offender.
This arrest marks the third apprehension in the case and delivers a major blow to the narco-terror module linked to Lashkar-e-Taiba and backed by Pakistan-based handlers.
The module smuggled narcotics and arms through dead drop consignments along the Line of Control in Karnah sector, using proceeds to fund terrorism in Jammu and Kashmir.
Multiple charge sheets have already been filed, and with Bhat’s arrest, the SIA aims to expose critical terror links and strengthen the ongoing trial with further evidence.
