SRINAGAR, AUGUST 10, 2026 : In a major action against the narcotics trade, Srinagar Police have attached immovable property worth approximately ₹4 crore belonging to an alleged drug peddler in Budgam district.
Police said the property belonging to Fayaz Ahmad Dar, son of Ghulam Hussain Dar, a resident of Ichgam, Budgam, was attached by Police Station Khanyar in connection with FIR No. 04/2026, registered under Sections 8/21 of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, 1985.
Property Worth Around ₹4 Crore Attached
According to officials, the attached assets include a two-storey residential house with an attic, along with 5 kanals and 17 marlas of land.
The property, bearing Khasra Nos. 415/416, is located at Ichgam in Budgam district. Police have estimated its market value at around ₹4 crore.
The attachment was carried out under Section 68-F of the NDPS Act, after the property was identified as an asset allegedly acquired from the proceeds of drug trafficking.
Crackdown on Drug Traffickers’ Financial Networks
Police said the action forms part of the broader J&K Police campaign aimed at dismantling the financial infrastructure of drug traffickers and depriving those involved in the illicit trade of assets allegedly generated through narcotics-related activities.
Officials said Srinagar Police would continue taking strict action against alleged drug traffickers, their associates and properties linked to the narcotics trade.
“Srinagar Police remains committed to making the city drug-free and will continue strict action against traffickers, their associates and properties linked to narcotics,” officials said.
The latest property attachment underscores the increasing focus of law-enforcement agencies on targeting not only the alleged trafficking networks but also the financial assets and proceeds associated with the illegal drug trade.
