ANANTNAG, May 5, 2026 : In a strong action against the narcotics network, Anantnag Police has attached immovable property worth approximately ₹85 lakh, delivering a major blow to the drug mafia operating in the district.
Acting under Section 68(F) of the NDPS Act, Police Station Srigufwara attached a single-storeyed residential house belonging to Imtiyaz Ahmad Ganie, a resident of Shalgam in Srigufwara. The property has been identified as proceeds generated through illicit drug trafficking.
Officials stated that the accused is involved in FIR No. 72/2022 registered under relevant provisions of the NDPS Act. During investigation, it was established that the property was acquired using illegal earnings from narcotics trade.
Following due legal procedures, the property has now been formally attached in accordance with the law. Authorities reiterated that such actions are aimed not only at prosecuting offenders but also at dismantling the financial backbone of drug trafficking networks.
The move is part of an intensified and sustained crackdown by Anantnag Police to curb the drug menace and target the economic infrastructure supporting it.
Reiterating zero tolerance against narcotics, police warned that strict action—including attachment of illegally acquired assets—will continue against those involved in drug-related activities.
