Peshawar, Jun 28, 2025 : At least 13 security personnel were killed and 24 others injured, including 14 civilians, in a suicide bombing in Pakistan’s restive Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province on Saturday, security sources said.
The attack occurred early morning in the Khaddi area of North Waziristan, when a suicide bomber rammed an explosives-laden vehicle into a Mine-Resistant Ambush Protected (MRAP) vehicle of the Bomb Disposal Unit, sources confirmed.
Among the injured civilians were women and children, several of whom are reported to be in critical condition.
The attack took place during a curfew, which had been imposed amid ongoing military movement in the region. A swift rescue and cordon operation was launched by security forces following the explosion.
The militant outfit Usud al-Harb, a sub-group of the Hafiz Gul Bahadur faction, has claimed responsibility for the attack.
The blast is being described as one of the deadliest attacks in North Waziristan in recent months, intensifying concerns over the deteriorating security environment in Pakistan’s tribal belt.
