Srinagar, May 30, 2026 : A fresh batch of 540 Agniveers was formally inducted into the Indian Army on Saturday after successfully completing months of rigorous military training at the Jammu and Kashmir Light Infantry (JAKLI) Regimental Centre on the outskirts of Srinagar.
The induction took place during a grand Attestation and Passing Out Parade, showcasing military precision, discipline, professionalism and patriotism as the seventh batch of Agniveers graduated from the prestigious training centre.
According to a defence spokesperson, the ceremony marked the transformation of young recruits into trained soldiers ready to serve the nation with honour, courage and dedication.
Set against the picturesque backdrop of the Kashmir Valley, the parade reflected the commitment, resilience and determination displayed by the Agniveers throughout their demanding training period.
The parade was reviewed by Lieutenant General P.K. Mishra, General Officer Commanding (GOC), White Knight Corps, who complimented the newly inducted soldiers for their immaculate turnout, synchronized drill movements and exceptional military bearing.
The event was attended by senior Army officers, civil dignitaries and family members of the Agniveers, making the occasion both memorable and emotionally significant.
Officials said the training programme included intensive physical conditioning, tactical instruction, weapon handling, fieldcraft, military discipline and character-building exercises designed to prepare recruits for operational responsibilities.
The culmination of the training programme was marked by the solemn attestation ceremony, during which the Agniveers pledged their allegiance to the nation and committed themselves to the core values of duty, courage, integrity and selfless service.
Addressing the passing-out contingent, Lt Gen P.K. Mishra urged the newly inducted soldiers to uphold the highest traditions and values of the Indian Army and remain steadfast in their commitment to national service.
He praised the Agniveers for their perseverance, dedication and sense of purpose demonstrated throughout the training period and expressed confidence in their ability to serve the country with distinction.
The Corps Commander also commended the instructors and training staff for their relentless efforts in transforming the recruits into disciplined, motivated and combat-ready soldiers.
The ceremony reached an emotional high point as the Agniveers took the Oath of Allegiance and marched past the reviewing officer with confidence, pride and determination.
As the National Flag fluttered above the parade ground and the final salute echoed across the venue, the occasion symbolized the enduring spirit of patriotism and the commitment of India’s youth to safeguarding the nation’s unity, integrity and sovereignty.
Defence officials described the successful completion of training by the seventh batch of Agniveers as another significant milestone in the Indian Army’s ongoing efforts to build a new generation of technologically skilled, physically fit and mission-ready soldiers.
They said the induction of the 540 Agniveers will further strengthen the Army’s operational capabilities and reinforce its commitment to protecting the nation’s territorial integrity and national security.
