Srinagar, May 30, 2026 : The Jammu and Kashmir Government has informed that the 8th Central Pay Commission (CPC) will visit the Union Territory from May 31 to June 5, 2026, to interact with various stakeholders, including government employees, unions, associations and senior administrative officials.
According to an official communication issued by the Finance Department (Codes Division), the Commission has scheduled an interaction and presentation session with the Jammu and Kashmir Government on June 1, 2026, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Meeting Hall CR-3, Sher-i-Kashmir International Conference Centre (SKICC), near Centaur Hotel in Srinagar.
The high-level meeting will be chaired by the Chief Secretary and attended by senior officers representing key government departments and administrative wings.
Officials directed to participate include the Additional Chief Secretaries of the Jal Shakti, Power Development, Tourism, Agriculture, Finance, Public Works (R&B) Departments and the Chief Minister’s Secretariat.
The communication further stated that Principal Secretaries of the Home Department, Lieutenant Governor’s Secretariat and Election Department have also been asked to attend the session.
Additionally, the Commissioner Secretary, General Administration Department; Commissioner Secretary, Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Department; and all Heads of Departments under the Finance Department have been instructed to participate and present their views.
The visit of the 8th Central Pay Commission is aimed at collecting inputs, suggestions and representations from stakeholders regarding pay structures, service conditions, allowances, employee welfare measures and other service-related issues.
Officials said the interaction will provide an opportunity for government departments, employee organizations and other stakeholders to place their concerns and recommendations before the Commission as part of its nationwide review process.
The recommendations of the 8th Central Pay Commission are expected to play a significant role in determining future salary structures, benefits and service conditions for lakhs of Central Government employees and pensioners across the country.
