Jammu, January 17, 2026 : Lieutenant Governor Shri Manoj Sinha on Friday said that artists and GenZ entrepreneurs will together forge India’s future, emphasising that the alliance of art and business holds the power to build a vibrant and developed society.
Addressing the valedictory session of the International Painting Workshop, organised by Anandam: The Centre of Happiness and the Art Club at IIM Jammu, the Lieutenant Governor said imagination combined with investment can redefine the nation’s pace of progress.
Congratulating renowned artists and participating students, LG Sinha described artists as architects of national pride who shape identity, unity and progress. He said the combined energy of creative minds and future CEOs can emerge as a new engine of national development.
“On one side are dreamers—the artists—and on the other are doers—the next-generation leaders. Their united efforts will redefine India’s progress,” he said.
Highlighting the relevance of creativity in the age of artificial intelligence and machine learning, the Lieutenant Governor stressed that creative thinking is essential to discover new opportunities. He advised business management professionals to continuously learn from experiences and adopt innovative approaches.
Describing art as a cornerstone of interdisciplinary education, LG Sinha said art enriches institutions, transforms personalities and strengthens a sense of belonging and responsibility towards society and the nation.
“Art is the heartbeat of society and the conscience of the nation. It shapes values, preserves identity, encourages dialogue and inspires a collective purpose,” he added.
On the occasion, the Lieutenant Governor felicitated eminent and emerging painters and commended IIM Jammu for its unique academic-cultural initiative that integrates creativity with management education.
The event was attended by Prof. B.S. Sahay, Director IIM Jammu; Dr Shakti Gupta, former Executive Director AIIMS Jammu; Prof. Shyam Narayan Lal, Chairperson Anandam: The Centre for Happiness; noted painter K.K. Gandhi, other eminent artists, senior officials, heads of educational institutions, faculty members and a large number of youth.
