Srinagar, March 23, 2026 : Divisional Commissioner Kashmir Anshul Garg on Monday clarified that there is no shortage of fuel or LPG in the Valley, assuring that sufficient stocks are available and the situation is under constant monitoring.
Addressing reporters in Srinagar, Garg said domestic LPG supplies are running smoothly, with current stock levels sufficient for approximately 10 to 15 days. He emphasized that while stock positions remain dynamic, authorities are maintaining close surveillance at both divisional and district levels to prevent any disruption.
He further stated that petrol and diesel supplies across Kashmir are stable. District-level committees are actively monitoring oil marketing companies to curb any irregular practices such as hoarding, black marketing, or overpricing.
To ensure efficient distribution, control rooms have been established at district and divisional levels. The Food and Civil Supplies Department is generating daily centralized reports, which are being regularly reviewed to maintain uninterrupted supply.
Responding to complaints regarding delays in LPG deliveries, Garg said such issues are being addressed on a case-by-case basis by Deputy Commissioners and concerned departments, with field teams working actively to resolve them.
Urging the public to remain calm, the Divisional Commissioner advised people to rely only on official communication and avoid spreading or believing in rumours. “There is no need to panic. The administration is committed to ensuring uninterrupted supply and keeping the public informed,” he said.
On a separate note, Garg also spoke about students from Jammu and Kashmir stranded in Iran, stating that both the Government of India and the Union Territory administration are making continuous efforts for their safe return. Dedicated helplines have been set up, and regular updates are being shared with families through control rooms.
He added that coordination between authorities and parents has improved, expressing hope that all students will return safely at the earliest.
Reaffirming the administration’s commitment, Garg said the overall situation is being closely monitored and necessary measures are being taken on priority.
