SRINAGAR, August 12, 2026 : Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha has summoned the Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly to meet for its Autumn Session from September 21, 2026.
The Assembly has been summoned on the recommendation of the Council of Ministers headed by Chief Minister Omar Abdullah.
The summoning of the House has been carried out in accordance with the provisions of the Jammu and Kashmir Reorganisation Act, 2019.
Autumn Session Set to Begin September 21
The upcoming session will provide the elected government an opportunity to take up legislative and administrative matters concerning Jammu and Kashmir, besides discussions on issues of public importance.
The session is expected to bring the government and legislators together for deliberations on policies, development, governance and other matters concerning the Union Territory.
The formal summoning by the Lieutenant Governor marks the beginning of the constitutional process for convening the Assembly.
