JAMMU, April 8, 2026 : Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha chaired the 2nd University Council meeting of Cluster University of Srinagar at Lok Bhavan, Jammu.
The Council gave in-principle approval to key proposals, including:
🔹 Establishment of Abdul Ahad Azad Chair
🔹 Adoption of postgraduate curriculum under National Education Policy 2020 as per UGC norms
🔹 Major directions by LG:
- Implement targeted academic and student welfare reforms
- Ensure full rollout of e-office systems for modern administration
- Bring uniform recruitment rules for non-teaching staff across universities
🔹 Focus areas:
- Boost youth participation under “Viksit Bharat Yuva Connect”
- Intensify campaigns under Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan
👉 “Universities must lead the fight against drug menace,” the LG stressed.
Vice Chancellor Mohammad Mobin presented the university’s progress report, while senior academicians and officials participated in the meeting.
👉 The move aims to enhance academic excellence, transparency, and administrative efficiency in J&K’s higher education sector.
