SRINAGAR, April 23, 2026 : National Conference leader and Srinagar MP Aga Syed Ruhullah Mehdi on Thursday questioned the Jammu and Kashmir administration over delays in resolving the reservation issue, urging it to either act on the pending file or acknowledge a lack of intent.
Ruhullah said the government had claimed to forward the file to the Lieutenant Governor’s office but had not provided clarity on when a decision would be taken. “If they cannot act, they should at least tell the people clearly,” he remarked, criticizing the delay.
Taking a swipe at the administration, he said merely stating that the file has been sent does not address the concerns of affected students and stakeholders.
The MP also dismissed speculation about forming a new political party, stating he remains unaware of any such developments.
