Srinagar, April 28, 2026 : In a significant development, the Delhi High Court has granted interim bail to Baramulla MP Engineer Rashid, allowing him to meet his critically ill father.
The decision has been welcomed by the Awami Ittehad Party (AIP), which termed it a reflection of “humanitarian justice.” Party Chief Spokesperson Inam Un Nabi described the order as a balanced approach between legal procedure and human compassion.
He said the ruling has brought relief not only to the MP’s family but also to many closely following the case, emphasizing that judicial wisdom ensures humanity is not overshadowed by rigid procedures.
Highlighting the broader significance, Nabi stated that the decision reinforces faith in the judiciary as a guardian of both law and human dignity.
He further noted that permitting an elected representative to be with his ailing father showcases the compassionate side of the justice system and underscores the importance of sensitivity in democratic institutions.
The AIP reiterated that empathy must remain central to governance and justice delivery, expressing hope for continued fairness in the legal process.
