SRINAGAR, April 30, 2026 : National Conference president Farooq Abdullah has made a strong appeal for peace, urging Pakistan to “call it a day” and put an end to the cycle of violence in Jammu and Kashmir.
In a candid statement, the veteran leader asserted that while terrorism in the region has largely declined, continued tensions and Pakistan’s stance on Jammu and Kashmir still contribute to instability.

Farooq Abdullah emphasized the need for both nations to move away from conflict and embrace peace:
“The time has come… let us leave the path of violence and start finding ways of peace so that we can live with honour and dignity.”

The three-time former Chief Minister appealed not just to Pakistan but also to India, stressing that lasting peace can only be achieved through dialogue, mutual respect, and a shared commitment to stability in the region.
