JAMMU, May 2, 2026 : In a renewed push to combat drug abuse and build a healthier society, Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha has announced a Mega Padyatra to be held on May 3 at the TRC Football Stadium.
Addressing the public, the Lieutenant Governor highlighted the growing momentum across Jammu and Kashmir in the fight against narcotics, describing it as both “strong and inspiring.” He called upon people from all sections of society—especially the youth—to actively participate in the padyatra and contribute to the collective mission of eradicating drug abuse.
“Let us unite and work together to create a safer and healthier Jammu and Kashmir for future generations,” Sinha said, stressing that community involvement remains the cornerstone of any successful anti-drug initiative.
The Mega Padyatra is part of the administration’s broader strategy to intensify awareness campaigns and strengthen action against drug-related activities. Authorities believe that such mass participation events not only spread awareness but also foster a sense of shared responsibility among citizens.
With increasing focus on public engagement, the initiative aims to transform the anti-drug campaign into a sustained people’s movement, ensuring long-term impact in curbing substance abuse across the Union Territory.
