ANANTNAG, May 18, 2026 : Police on Monday attached a residential property worth approximately Rs 1.10 crore belonging to an alleged drug peddler in Anantnag district of Jammu and Kashmir as part of an ongoing crackdown against narcotics trafficking.
According to officials, the attached property comprises a double-storeyed residential house belonging to Ajaz Ahmad Bhat, a resident of Nowshara in the Srigufwara area of south Kashmir.
A police spokesperson said the action was taken under the provisions of Section 68(F) of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.
“Continuing its sustained crackdown against the drug menace and the illegal assets generated through narcotics trafficking, police in Anantnag attached an immovable property worth approximately Rs 1.10 crore under the provisions of Section 68(F) of the NDPS Act,” the spokesperson said.
Police said the action forms part of continued efforts to dismantle the financial networks of drug traffickers and curb the spread of narcotics in the region.
Authorities have intensified anti-drug operations across Jammu and Kashmir in recent months, targeting both drug peddlers and properties allegedly created through proceeds of narcotics trade.
