JAMMU, June 8, 2026 : Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Sunday visited the historic Gada Dari Temple situated within the renowned Mubarak Mandi Heritage Complex in Jammu to assess the damage caused to the centuries-old shrine and review the restoration measures being undertaken.
During his visit, the Lieutenant Governor conducted an on-site inspection of the affected structure and directed concerned officials to initiate immediate steps for the restoration, conservation, and preservation of the historic temple. Stressing the importance of protecting Jammu and Kashmir’s rich cultural and religious heritage, he emphasized that restoration work must be completed in a time-bound manner while preserving the temple’s original architectural and historical character.
Officials briefed the Lieutenant Governor on the circumstances that led to the damage, the current condition of the shrine, and the proposed restoration roadmap. Reviewing the plans in detail, LG Sinha instructed the administration and executing agencies to expedite conservation efforts and ensure that no further deterioration of the heritage structure takes place.
He underscored the government’s commitment to safeguarding heritage monuments and maintaining the cultural identity of historic landmarks that hold immense significance for local communities and future generations.
The Gada Dari Temple, located within the iconic Mubarak Mandi Complex, is considered an important symbol of Jammu’s cultural and spiritual legacy. The shrine forms an integral part of the historic heritage precinct, which reflects the region’s rich architectural traditions and historical heritage.
