NEW DELHI, June 11, 2026 : Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday asserted that India continues to move forward on its growth trajectory with confidence and determination despite prevailing global uncertainty and instability, emphasizing that the collective efforts of the Centre and States will be crucial in achieving the vision of a Viksit Bharat.

Addressing the 11th Meeting of the Governing Council of NITI Aayog, the Prime Minister highlighted India’s resilience and economic progress amid challenging international circumstances.

According to a statement shared by NITI Aayog, Modi noted that while many parts of the world are facing uncertainty and instability, India remains firmly focused on development and growth.

“The world is passing through a period of uncertainty and instability, yet India continues to move forward on its growth trajectory with confidence and determination,” the Prime Minister said.

Highlighting India’s expanding global economic engagement, Modi stated that the country has signed several Free Trade Agreements (FTAs) with various nations, creating fresh opportunities for exports, investment, and economic expansion.

He observed that these agreements provide significant opportunities for the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) sector, enabling businesses to access global markets by adopting international standards and improving competitiveness.

The Prime Minister stressed that India’s vast youth population represents a historic demographic advantage that must be fully utilized. He called for strengthening quality education, demand-driven skill development, and employment opportunities to empower young people and prepare them for future challenges.

Describing youth as the driving force behind the nation’s progress, Modi said that creating a supportive ecosystem for education, innovation, and employment should remain a top priority.

The Prime Minister also emphasized the importance of cooperative federalism, stating that dialogue, collaboration, and coordination among States are essential for achieving national development goals.

He said NITI Aayog serves as a vital platform for fostering cooperation among States, encouraging the exchange of ideas, best practices, and innovative solutions that can accelerate India’s development journey.

Highlighting the crucial role of women in nation-building, Modi reiterated that women-led development remains a cornerstone of the Viksit Bharat vision. He noted that women are making significant contributions across sectors including agriculture, entrepreneurship, science, technology, and innovation.

The Prime Minister urged States to focus on women’s education, skill development, safety, and economic empowerment to unlock their full potential and strengthen India’s growth story.

Reaffirming the shared responsibility of the Centre and States, Modi said the vision of a developed India can only be achieved through collective efforts and coordinated action.

“Guided by the spirit of cooperative federalism, we are working together to accelerate India’s development journey. The collective efforts of the Centre and States will play a pivotal role in realising our shared vision of Viksit Bharat,” he said.

The Prime Minister’s remarks underscored the government’s commitment to sustaining economic growth, empowering youth and women, strengthening federal cooperation, and positioning India as a leading global economy in the years ahead.
