JAMMU, June 12, 2026 : In a fresh administrative restructuring aimed at strengthening governance and enhancing departmental efficiency, the Jammu and Kashmir Government on Friday ordered the transfer and posting of six officers of the Jammu and Kashmir Administrative Service (JKAS) with immediate effect.
The transfers were effected through Government Order No. 1078-JK(GAD) of 2026, dated June 12, 2026, issued by the General Administration Department (GAD) under the directions of the Lieutenant Governor.
According to the order, the postings and transfers have been made in the interest of administration and shall come into force immediately.
Key Transfers and Postings
As per the government order:
- Akanksha Kalsotra (JKAS), serving as Programme and Coordination Executive in the Directorate of Information, J&K, has been transferred and posted as Deputy Secretary to the Government, Home Department.
- Tariq Ahmad Sheikh, Junior Scale JKAS and Assistant Director, Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs, Baramulla, has been appointed as Under Secretary to the Government, Home Department.
- Pulkit Dutta, Junior Scale JKAS, previously posted as Under Secretary in the Jammu and Kashmir Services Selection Board (JKSSB), has been transferred and posted as Under Secretary to the Government, Home Department.
- Sumit Suri, Junior Scale JKAS and Child Development Project Officer (CDPO), Khour, has been posted as Under Secretary in the Home Department.
- Ajay Singh, Junior Scale JKAS and Block Development Officer (BDO), Duggain, has been transferred and appointed as Under Secretary to the Government, Home Department.
- Monish Kumar (JKAS), presently serving as Under Secretary to the Government, Home Department, has been transferred and directed to await further orders of adjustment in the General Administration Department (GAD).
Focus on Administrative Efficiency
The latest reshuffle reflects the administration’s continued efforts to streamline governance, strengthen institutional capacity, and ensure effective functioning of key departments through the timely deployment of officers.
Notably, a majority of the transferred officers have been posted to the Home Department, underscoring the government’s emphasis on enhancing administrative coordination and operational efficiency in one of the Union Territory’s most important departments.
Officials stated that the exercise is part of an ongoing process aimed at improving public administration and ensuring efficient delivery of government services across Jammu and Kashmir.
