NEW DELHI, AUGUST 08, 2026 : A serving Indian Air Force (IAF) officer has been arrested in connection with allegations that he shared military-related information after allegedly being honey-trapped by a Pakistani intelligence operative through social media, police said on Saturday.
According to police, the case was registered under provisions of the Official Secrets Act following a complaint from IAF authorities. The officer was arrested on May 30, 2026, and after completion of the investigation, a chargesheet was filed before the competent court on July 30, 2026.
Police sources said the officer allegedly came into contact with a woman through social media. The interaction reportedly continued through video calls and other digital platforms, during which the woman allegedly developed a relationship with the officer.
Investigators suspect that the woman was operating on behalf of Pakistani intelligence handlers and that the officer subsequently shared information related to military activities.
The case is being investigated as part of a suspected espionage network, with authorities examining the digital communications and alleged flow of military-related information.
Officials have alleged the officer’s involvement, but the charges remain allegations unless established by the court.
