Jammu, August 13, 2026 : Jammu and Kashmir Police have activated the National General Emergency Response System — Dial 112 across the Jammu Zone, providing people with a single helpline for immediate assistance during emergencies.
Officials said the service is now available through all police stations across the Jammu Zone, enabling residents to seek prompt help whenever an emergency arises.
The public has been urged to make full use of the Dial 112 facility for a wide range of emergencies, including police assistance, fire incidents, medical emergencies, women’s safety and disaster-related situations.
One Number for Emergency Help
The initiative aims to make emergency response faster, simpler and more accessible, allowing people to seek assistance through one dedicated number instead of having to remember different emergency contacts.
Posters issued to highlight the new facility carry the message:
“In case of an emergency, anytime, anywhere, Dial 112 for immediate assistance.”
The activation of the emergency response system is expected to strengthen coordination between the public and emergency services and help ensure quicker response during critical situations.
Residents across the Jammu Zone have been advised to use Dial 112 whenever immediate emergency assistance is required.
