JAMMU, SEPTEMBER 04, 2026 : Security forces stepped up vigilance along the Samba border on Friday as Jammu and Kashmir Police and the Border Security Force (BSF) conducted a joint search-cum-area domination operation to strengthen security and prevent any untoward incident.
The operation began in Regal village and covered Chillerian, Nadala and Ploora, with security personnel thoroughly checking identified routes and vulnerable areas.
A special joint team comprising Police and BSF was deployed at a strategic location. The operation was supervised by the Additional Superintendent of Police, Samba, along with a Deputy Superintendent of Police from the Special Operations Group (SOG) and a BSF Inspector.
At checkpoints, security personnel carried out detailed inspections of vehicles and their occupants, maintaining heightened alert throughout the exercise.
LOCALS URGED TO REPORT SUSPICIOUS ACTIVITY
As part of the security drive, police personnel interacted with local residents and highlighted the importance of community participation in maintaining security.
Residents were provided with contact numbers for the Police Control Room Samba and SOG Samba, and were encouraged to immediately report any suspicious persons, vehicles, movements or unusual activities in their areas.
SSP Samba Anuj Kumar said the joint exercise was aimed at strengthening security preparedness, inter-agency coordination and police visibility, while enhancing the sense of safety among residents.
He assured the public that every credible input received from citizens would be promptly assessed and acted upon appropriately.
The joint operation reflects intensified security preparedness in the border areas of Samba and continued coordination between police and BSF to safeguard vulnerable locations.
