A delegation comprising the chairman of the Reservation Commission for Actual Line of Control (ALC), Justice Bansi Lal Bhat, who is a former judge of the High Court of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh called on L-G Mishra in New Delhi.
Justice Bhat met and submitted the final report after its completion and finalisation by the one-member commission, which identified areas adjoining the ALC of the Union Territory for the purpose of reservation under the J&K Reservation Act, 2004.
The main objective of the commission was to examine the overall question of providing reservations to the residents of areas adjoining ALC, or not, for recruitment to various posts under the administration of Ladakh consistent with the need of ensuring efficiency in administration and minimum standards for job recruitments.
“The Commission also aimed to determine the criteria to be adopted in considering any area of Ladakh as area adjoining ALC and using the criteria to examine the inclusion of villages of UT in the list of areas adjoining ALC,” an official spokesperson said.
