Rajouri, June 3, 2026 : A joint anti-terror operation by the Indian Army, Jammu and Kashmir Police, and the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) entered its twelfth day on Wednesday in the dense forest areas of Gambhir Mughlan and Dorimal in the Manjakote sector of Rajouri district.
Security forces continue to track suspected terrorists believed to be hiding in the region. Checkpoints have been set up, and ID verification of travellers and locals is ongoing as part of intensive search operations.
Codenamed Operation Sheruwali, the mission was launched following specific intelligence inputs indicating the presence of suspected militants in the area. The operation aims to contain the suspects within a designated zone while search teams methodically clear the region.
The rugged terrain and thick forest cover have increased the complexity of the mission, requiring forces to maintain constant vigilance while navigating challenging conditions. Security agencies are employing all available resources to monitor movement and neutralize any potential threat posed by the suspects.
The entire region remains under heightened security, with access to certain locations closely regulated. Officials stated that search operations will continue until the area is fully secured and all security concerns are addressed.
