JAMMU, July 24, 2025: Divisional Commissioner Jammu, Ramesh Kumar, and Inspector General of Police, Bhim Sen Tuti, on Thursday chaired a high-level meeting to review preparations for the upcoming Shree Machail Mata Yatra 2025.

The meeting witnessed participation from DIG Traffic, DC Kishtwar, SSP Kishtwar, MD JPDCL, Secretary Culture, and senior officials from the Tourism, Transport, Health, and other key departments.

A detailed PowerPoint presentation was given by the DC and SSP Kishtwar highlighting arrangements for the Yatra. The Divisional Commissioner reviewed civic amenities en route—focusing on accommodation capacity at night halt locations including dharamshalas, homestays, and guest houses. He also assessed facilities related to power supply, drinking water, medical aid, illumination, sanitation, and mobile connectivity from Kishtwar to Gulabgarh and onward to the shrine.

Key directions issued included:

  • Installation of adequate mobile toilets along the Yatra route.

  • Strict adherence to designated tracks to prevent route diversion.

  • Implementation and wide publicity of cut-off timings, Dos and Don’ts for pilgrims.

IGP Jammu emphasized strong security measures, regulated movement of pilgrims in mini convoys, and a complete halt in movement post cut-off timings. He also called for:

  • A robust queue management system.

  • CCTV surveillance at the shrine and vulnerable points.

  • Deployment of Fire & Emergency services.

  • Enhanced publicity through print, electronic media, and hoardings by the Tourism Department.

Both officers underscored the need for coordinated efforts to ensure the Yatra is safe, smooth, and well-managed.
