UDHAMPUR, August 5, 2025 : In a major crackdown on drug trafficking, police in Udhampur arrested a notorious drug peddler under the stringent PIT-NDPS Act and seized assets worth over ₹70 lakh belonging to another accused on Tuesday.
Amir Khan alias “Meedu”, a resident of Saillan Talab, was detained under the Prevention of Illicit Traffic in Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (PIT-NDPS) Act following formal detention orders from the competent authority, a police spokesperson said.

He is a repeat offender who was previously detained under PIT-NDPS in 2023 and released in 2024,” the spokesperson added.

Seized assets include a residential house, a car, a three-wheeler, and two two-wheelers. The order for attachment was issued by the investigating officer as part of the ongoing proceedings under the NDPS Act.
