Doda, November 2, 2025 : A family of five had a miraculous escape on Sunday after their mud house collapsed in Dhousa village, Bhalessa area of Jammu and Kashmir’s Doda district, officials said.
The house, belonging to Shiv Kumar, suddenly caved in, trapping him, his wife Mamta, and their children — Neeraj, Dheeraj, and Roovi Kumari — under the debris.
Swift action by neighbours helped rescue all five family members with minor injuries, officials confirmed.
Superintendent of Police Bhaderwah, Vinod Sharma, said a joint team of police and civil officers visited the site to assess the situation.
Preliminary reports suggest that the roof logs of the mud structure, weakened by recent heavy rains, led to the collapse.
