Srinagar, August 25, 2025 : Security forces on Monday foiled an infiltration attempt along the Line of Control (LoC) in Baramulla district’s Uri sector, officials said.
The attempt was detected in the Torna area, where troops deployed along the LoC noticed suspicious movement.
“The infiltrators were challenged, triggering a brief exchange of fire. A large-scale search operation has been launched in the area,” officials confirmed.
So far, no casualties have been reported from either side. The Army and police are yet to release an official statement.
On August 13, a soldier had lost his life in a gunfight with infiltrators near the LoC in Uri.
