Jammu, March 2, 2026 : The Jammu and Kashmir Home Department has ordered a series of transfers and postings in the Prisons Department with immediate effect.
As per Government Order No. 145-Home of 2026 dated March 02, 2026, Sheikh Zulfkar Azad, who was serving as Superintendent, Central Jail Srinagar, has been repatriated to his parent department, Jammu and Kashmir Police.

The order also deputes three police officers to the Jammu and Kashmir Prisons Department:

Ch. Iftikhar Ahmed – Posted as Superintendent Jail, District Jail Poonch

Rayaz Iqbal Tantray – Posted as Superintendent Jail, District Jail Anantnag

Aejaz Ahmad Malik – Posted as Superintendent Jail, Special Jail Pulwama
The transfers are effective immediately as part of routine administrative reshuffle within the department.
