Srinagar, November 13, 2025 : Jammu and Kashmir Police have approached Interpol to issue a Red Corner Notice against Dr Muzaffar, a Qazigund-based doctor allegedly linked to the interstate “white collar” terror module busted earlier this week, officials said on Thursday.
According to police sources, Dr Muzaffar is the brother of Dr Adeel, one of the eight persons (including three doctors) arrested in connection with the case linked to the Red Fort blast that killed 13 people in Delhi on Monday. Of the eight arrested, seven hail from Kashmir.
Officials said Muzaffar’s name emerged during the interrogation of the arrested suspects. He was reportedly part of the doctors’ delegation that visited Turkiye in 2021, along with Muzammil Ganaie and Dr Umar Nabi — the latter being the one who drove the explosives-laden car that detonated outside the Red Fort.
Police said attempts to trace Muzaffar revealed that he had left India for Dubai in August and is currently believed to be in Afghanistan.
The three doctors were in Turkiye for 21 days, during which intelligence agencies suspect possible meetings with operatives linked to proscribed terror outfits.
Meanwhile, Turkiye’s Directorate of Communications Centre for Countering Disinformation on Wednesday issued a statement denying reports that its territory was being used for radicalisation or terror-related activities.
“The claims that Turkiye is linked to terrorist acts in India and provides logistical, diplomatic, and financial support to terrorist groups are part of a malicious disinformation campaign aimed at damaging bilateral relations,” the statement read.
Turkiye further clarified that allegations of its involvement in “radicalisation activities” targeting India or any other country are “purely disinformative and lack any factual basis.”
The move by J&K Police to seek Interpol’s assistance marks a significant escalation in the ongoing investigation, as agencies continue to trace transnational terror linkages connected to the Red Fort blast.
