SRINAGAR | JULY 07, 2026 : Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Tuesday closely monitored the situation following the cloudburst in the Thathri area of Doda district, directing the district administration to provide immediate relief to affected families and expedite restoration efforts.
The Lieutenant Governor spoke with Deputy Commissioner Doda, Krishan Lal, to assess the ground situation and instructed the district administration to ensure prompt assistance to those impacted by the natural calamity.
According to the Lieutenant Governor, while the cloudburst caused significant damage to several houses and shops in the Thathri region, no casualties or injuries have been reported, providing relief amid the challenging situation.
In a post shared on X, LG Manoj Sinha said he had reviewed the situation with the Deputy Commissioner and directed officials to ensure that all affected families receive immediate relief and necessary support without delay.
He also instructed the administration to expedite restoration work, with a special focus on clearing National Highway-244 (NH-244) to restore normal connectivity and facilitate the movement of people and essential services.
The district administration has been asked to remain on high alert, closely monitor the situation, and take all necessary measures to safeguard lives, restore damaged infrastructure, and provide timely assistance to residents affected by the cloudburst.
The administration continues to assess the extent of the damage while restoration teams remain engaged in clearing debris and reopening blocked routes in the affected area.
