New Delhi, July 28, 2026 : Launching a sharp political attack on Prime Minister Narendra Modi during a debate in the Lok Sabha, Congress MP Priyanka Gandhi Vadra on Tuesday accused the Centre of failing India’s youth and said that changing camera angles cannot hide the realities faced by the younger generation.

Participating in the discussion on The Public Examination (Prevention of Unfair Means) Amendment Bill, 2026, Priyanka Gandhi said the country’s Gen Z is intelligent enough to distinguish between image-building and genuine leadership.

“If you want to win over Gen Z, making videos with different camera angles will not help. The Prime Minister needs to change the angle of his heart, not the angle of cameras,” she remarked, drawing reactions in the House.

She alleged that the Modi government had committed injustice against the country’s youth and urged the Prime Minister to accept responsibility for the challenges confronting students and job aspirants.

“Injustice has been done to the youth under your government. Accept the truth. Prime Minister Narendra Modi must take responsibility,” she said.

Questions Over Action Against Student Protesters

Priyanka Gandhi also criticized the government’s handling of student protests, questioning the use of force against demonstrators.

She demanded answers from Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah over the alleged use of pellet guns and assault rifles during protests.

“Who authorised the use of pellet guns and AK-47s on protesting students?” she asked.

She further asserted that every baton charge on protesting students had damaged the government’s credibility more than it had silenced the voices of young people.

“Students can be removed from the streets, but their questions cannot be removed,” she added.

Claims of Repeated Paper Leaks

Highlighting concerns over examination integrity, the Congress leader claimed that the country’s examination system has witnessed 152 paper leaks over the past decade, alleging that not a single examination mafia has been effectively punished.

During her speech, brief disruptions were witnessed in the House over her remarks concerning the new Education Minister, Pralhad Joshi.

Government Defends Anti-Paper Leak Law

The debate came as the Lok Sabha resumed normal functioning after a week-long stalemate.

Introducing the discussion, Union Minister of State in the Prime Minister’s Office Dr. Jitendra Singh defended the government’s record, stating that the Public Examination (Prevention of Unfair Means) Amendment Bill, 2026 reinforces the Centre’s commitment to protecting students and ensuring transparency in public examinations.

He maintained that the Modi government had fulfilled a long-pending need by bringing a comprehensive anti-paper leak law in 2024 and is now strengthening it further through the latest amendments.
