SRINAGAR, April 24, 2026 : In a shocking incident that has raised serious concerns over hotel safety standards, six tourists from Bengaluru were injured after a lift reportedly collapsed inside a hotel in the Hyderpora area of Srinagar on Friday.
According to officials, the group was staying at the hotel when the incident occurred. The malfunctioning lift suddenly gave way, leaving all six occupants with injuries, primarily affecting their legs and lower body.
The injured were immediately rushed to Bone and Joint Hospital Barzulla, where they are currently undergoing treatment. Medical sources confirmed that all patients are stable, though some sustained significant trauma.

- D. Mangula (54)
- Kushalla (18)
- Pankaja (16)
- Venkatalakshmamma (60)
- Sowbhagya (60)
All are residents of Bengaluru and were visiting Srinagar as tourists.
As of now, the exact cause of the lift collapse remains unclear. No official statement has been released by the hotel management, adding to concerns about transparency and accountability.
