SRINAGAR, Apr 30,2026 : In a significant administrative move, the Jammu and Kashmir Police has promoted 1,785 personnel to higher ranks, reinforcing the force’s operational strength and morale.
The promotions were approved by a departmental promotion committee headed by IGP Kashmir V K Birdi, which carefully evaluated eligible head constables, selection grade constables, and constables before finalizing the list.

- 300 Head Constables elevated to Assistant Sub Inspectors
- 1020 Selection Grade Constables promoted to Head Constables
- 465 Constables upgraded to Selection Grade Constables
