SRINAGAR, May 1, 2026 : In a major crackdown on corruption, the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) Jammu & Kashmir arrested a police head constable in Srinagar for allegedly demanding and accepting a bribe.
The accused, identified as Parvaiz Ahmad, was apprehended during a well-planned trap operation in the Batamaloo area following a complaint by a local resident.

According to officials:
- The complainant alleged demand for illegal gratification in an official matter
- ACB laid a trap and caught the accused red-handed
- ₹5,000 cash + ₹35,000 cheque recovered on the spot
- Seizure conducted in the presence of independent witnesses

A case has been registered under relevant sections of the Prevention of Corruption Act, and further investigation is underway to uncover the full extent of the wrongdoing.
