Addressing officials after flagging off the Vande Bharat train, Vaishnaw noted that the young Himalayan mountain range poses unique engineering risks, requiring innovative maintenance practices.

- Chenab Bridge
- Anji Bridge
- Extensive tunnel networks across the region

- Increasing passenger capacity on Jammu–Srinagar routes
- Installing automatic signalling systems
- Developing additional crossing stations for smoother operations

- Four stations across J&K under construction or upgradation
- Improved passenger amenities and modern infrastructure
