Jammu,  June 19, 2026 : Deputy Chief Minister Surinder Choudhary on Friday conducted an extensive inspection of the ongoing construction work on the new Legislative Assembly building in Jammu, reiterating the government’s commitment to ensuring the timely completion of the prestigious project while maintaining the highest standards of quality.

During his visit to the project site, the Deputy Chief Minister reviewed the progress achieved so far and assessed various components of the construction work being executed at the new Assembly complex. He interacted with officers and engineers associated with the project and sought updates regarding timelines, construction milestones, and overall implementation.

Emphasizing the significance of the project, Surinder Choudhary described the new Legislative Assembly building as an important public infrastructure initiative and a symbol of democratic governance in Jammu and Kashmir. He stressed that the facility will serve as a key institution for legislative functioning and public representation in the years ahead.

The Deputy Chief Minister directed the concerned departments and executing agencies to accelerate the pace of construction and ensure that all pending works are completed within the stipulated timeframe. He also called for close coordination among stakeholders to avoid delays and facilitate smooth execution of the project.

Highlighting the importance of quality assurance, Choudhary instructed officials to maintain strict adherence to construction standards and ensure that no compromise is made in the execution of the work. He further emphasized the need for regular monitoring and periodic reviews to maintain efficiency and transparency throughout the construction process.

“The Assembly building is not merely a structure but a reflection of democratic values and institutional strength. It is essential that the project is completed on schedule while upholding the highest quality standards,” he observed during the inspection.
