NEW DELHI, AUGUST 08, 2026 : Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta on Saturday visited a Kanwar camp near the Delhi-Uttar Pradesh border in East Delhi’s Dilshad Garden area and said the Delhi government had taken comprehensive measures to ensure that Kanwariyas faced no inconvenience during the Kanwar Yatra 2026.
Addressing devotees and camp organisers, Gupta said the government had focused on essential facilities, including financial assistance, sanitation, electricity and water supply, to ensure properly maintained Kanwar camps across the national capital.
“Like last year, this year also, every effort has been made to ensure that our devotees of Bhole do not face even the slightest problem,” the Chief Minister said.
The Delhi government had earlier approved a proposal to increase financial assistance for Kanwar committees for the 2026 Kanwar Yatra.
Gupta’s visit comes as large numbers of Kanwariyas undertake the annual pilgrimage dedicated to Lord Shiva, with authorities focusing on arrangements for their safe and comfortable journey.
