SRINAGAR, May 26, 2026 : Jammu & Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Tuesday handed over compassionate appointment orders to 52 beneficiaries under SRO-43 and the Rehabilitation Assistance Scheme (RAS).
According to a statement shared by the Chief Minister’s Office on X, the initiative reflects the Government’s continued commitment towards providing compassionate assistance and support to deserving families.
SRO-43 pertains to Jammu & Kashmir’s compassionate appointment policy, which provides government employment to dependent family members of government employees who die in service or to victims affected by terrorism-related incidents.
During the programme, Chief Minister Omar Abdullah extended his best wishes to all the appointees and expressed hope that they would serve with dedication, sincerity and a strong sense of public responsibility.
The move is being seen as an important step towards supporting families facing hardships while ensuring rehabilitation and employment assistance through institutional support mechanisms.
