New Delhi, August 01, 2026 : Commercial LPG users received significant relief on Saturday as the price of a 19-kg commercial LPG cylinder was reduced by ₹192, while Aviation Turbine Fuel (ATF) prices were increased by ₹5 per litre, reflecting divergent trends in global energy benchmarks.
According to revised rates issued by state-owned oil marketing companies, a 19-kg commercial LPG cylinder in Delhi will now cost ₹2,738, down from ₹2,930. In contrast, ATF prices have been raised from ₹110 per litre to ₹115 per litre.
This marks the second consecutive monthly reduction in commercial LPG prices after a ₹183.50 cut on July 1, offering continued relief to hotels, restaurants, and other commercial establishments that rely heavily on LPG.
The latest reduction follows an extraordinary surge in prices triggered by the West Asia crisis, which had pushed commercial LPG rates to record levels. Between February and June, commercial LPG prices had increased by nearly ₹1,373 per 19-kg cylinder, rising from ₹1,740.50 to ₹3,113.50 before beginning to ease.
The price of the 5-kg market-priced LPG cylinder has also been reduced from ₹808.50 to ₹762, providing additional relief to consumers purchasing smaller cylinders.
However, there is no change in domestic LPG prices. The cost of a 14.2-kg household LPG cylinder remains ₹942. Domestic LPG prices were last revised on June 7, when they were increased by ₹29 per cylinder, following an earlier ₹60 hike in March amid supply disruptions caused by geopolitical tensions in West Asia.
Meanwhile, Indian Oil Corporation (IOC) Chairman A. S. Sahney stated on Friday that the company continues to incur an under-recovery of ₹503 on every 14.2-kg domestic LPG cylinder, as retail prices remain significantly below the actual cost.
There has also been no change in petrol and diesel prices, which were last increased by around ₹7.50 per litre in May and continue to remain unchanged.
The monthly revision in LPG and ATF prices is based on international benchmark fuel prices and foreign exchange rates, with retail LPG prices varying across states depending on local taxes such as VAT.
