Jammu, June 17, 2026 : The General Officer Commanding (GOC) of the Jammu-based White Knight Corps, Lieutenant General P K Mishra, on Wednesday visited forward areas along the Line of Control (LoC) in the Naushera sector of Rajouri district to review the prevailing security situation and assess the combat readiness of troops deployed in the strategically important sector.
According to the Indian Army, Lt Gen Mishra was accompanied by the General Officer Commanding (GOC), Ace of Spades Division, Major General Kaushik Mukherjee, during the visit.
The Corps Commander conducted a comprehensive review of the operational environment along the LoC and received detailed briefings on the existing force deployment, surveillance mechanisms, border security measures, and ongoing initiatives aimed at enhancing operational preparedness and combat capabilities in the sector.
In a statement shared on social media platform X, the White Knight Corps said that the visit was undertaken to assess the prevailing security environment and evaluate the combat effectiveness of troops stationed in forward areas.
“GOC White Knight Corps, accompanied by GOC Ace of Spades Division, visited forward areas in the Naushera Sector to assess the prevailing security environment and review the combat effectiveness of troops deployed along the LoC,” the Army stated.
During the interaction, senior commanders briefed Lt Gen Mishra on various operational aspects, including surveillance systems, force posture, and measures being implemented to further strengthen border management and security preparedness.
The Corps Commander also interacted with troops deployed at forward locations and commended them for their professionalism, dedication, and unwavering commitment to safeguarding the nation’s borders under challenging conditions.
The Army said Lt Gen Mishra appreciated the troops for maintaining a high level of operational alertness and vigilance while performing their duties along the sensitive frontier.
“Interacting with troops in forward locations, the Corps Commander lauded their steadfast commitment, high morale and unwavering vigilance in safeguarding the nation’s frontiers,” the Army said.
The visit underscores the Army’s continued focus on maintaining robust security arrangements and operational preparedness along the Line of Control, particularly in strategically significant sectors of the Jammu region.
Regular reviews by senior military leadership play a crucial role in assessing ground realities, strengthening operational capabilities, and ensuring that troops remain fully prepared to effectively respond to any security challenges along the border.
